Marketing Coordinator & IT Liaison

Purpose of Position
This role leads day-to-day marketing efforts, manages digital and print communications, and maintains a consistent brand presence across platforms. It also serves as the first line of support for IT-related needs, ensuring smooth internal operations, and coordinates with external vendors for advanced technical issues, updates and installations. By combining creative communication with technical problem-solving, this position plays a key role in enhancing Midwest Minnesota Community Development’s (MMCDC) visibility and operational effectiveness—all in an effort to meet the organization’s mission of assisting individuals and communities build a better quality of life.

Reports to
Jointly reports to MMCDC President and Chief Financial Officer

Time Requirement and Pay
Full time, non-exempt position. Paid hourly with benefits. An average of 40 hours per week. Some emergency after-hours situations may arise. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Work Environment
Primary work in an office environment in MMCDC’s Detroit Lakes offices. Occasional travel to subsidiary office in Ogema, MN. Occasional in and out of state travel for training.

Responsibilities
Marketing
1. Implement and manage day-to-day marketing activities in line with the established marketing plan, including both internal and external messaging. Collaborate with Development Officer as appropriate.
2. Maintain and update the organization’s website with relevant and timely content, in coordination with external marketing provider.
3. Gather and compile information to create engaging content for social media and advocacy efforts. Manage posting schedules across multiple platforms.
4. Design and produce print materials (brochures, flyers, signage, etc.).
5. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to highlight programs and success stories. Distribute to industry and community partners in company newsletters and related communications.
6. Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
7. Coordinate periodic events for community engagement.
Information Technology (IT)
1. Serve as the in-house point of contact for IT-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve basic problems (Network connectivity, installing devices, software installations, recovering deleted files, password resets, initial set-ups, etc.)
2. Coordinate with external IT vendor to address more complex technical issues, manage service requests, and escalate problems as needed.
3. Ensure new implementations (software, hardware, services, integrations) adhere to established security protocols and overall internal IT objectives.
4. Coordinate and schedule IT maintenance or updates in collaboration with external vendor to minimize disruption to day-to-day operations.
5. Maintain an inventory of technology equipment and ensure all devices are functioning properly.
6. Serve as a staff liaison to the Board of Directors Technology Committee. Advise as needed. Recommend updates to the IT policy.
7. Participate as relevant with internal teams for exploration of new software and hardware solutions.

Qualifications
1. 3-5 years experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
2. Familiarity and proficiency with website content management systems, social media platforms, and graphic design tools.
3. Proficient use of Office 365. Solid understanding of networking and IT security best practices.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Strong problem-solving skills.
6. Strong sense of maturity, ethical responsibility, and confidentiality.
7. Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and collaborate with internal and external teams.
