DESCRIPTION:LEARN HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR COLLEAGUES\,\n\nFRIENDS\, FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS\n With 1 in 5 adults in the United States living with a mental illness\, developing skills to support individuals living with a mental health challenge is important. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify\, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.  Similar to First Aid or CPR\, Mental Health First Aid helps build the skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to those who are struggling.  You'll also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support.\n\nAFTER THE COURSE\, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO:\n\n\n	Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges\n	Understand how to interact with a person in crisis\n	Learn a 5-step action plan to help someone who is developing a mental health challenge and get them connected to the appropriate resources or professional help\n	Use self-care tools and techniques\n	Receive information on mental health challenges such as depression\, anxiety\, trauma\, psychosis and substance use.\n\n\nYOU ARE INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND AN UPCOMING SESSION:\n                Date:                    Tuesday\, October 31\, 2023 *pre-work required too\n\n                Time:                    8:30 am   3:00 pm (a 30 minute lunch and break will be included)\n\n                Cost:                     $250.00 per person   must be paid in order to be fully registered.
