Job Description
Accepting applications for Sales, Groups, Meetings & Events Coordinator of 54 unit upscale, award-winning, lakefront, ecofriendly, lifestyle resort/hotel in NW Minnesota. Seeking applicants with hands-on leadership style.

Job Summary: To sell the hotel at every opportunity. To plan, organize, direct and conduct sales, meetings, groups and promotional activities at The Lodge on Lake Detroit to achieve maximum sales and profits. To provide exceptional service and a well-motivated staff while promoting hotel patronage and keeping the needs and wants of the guests in mind. Also making sure the safety and security of guest, staff and premises must always be a priority factor while achieving goals.

Responsibilities Include:

* Ensure maximum guest satisfaction.

* Meet or exceed monthly room revenue goals while staying with budget guidelines.

* Aggressively go after new business and work to maintain current business.

* Professional and prompt follow-up to groups, meetings and events leads and inquiries.

* Maintain all sales systems.

* Work a minimum of 45 hours a week.

* Proficient use of the hotel's PMS, POS and Sales & Catering computer systems.

* Establish and maintain accounts and develop relationships in the marketplace.

* Monitor, maintain and establish locally negotiated rates.

* Make quality off-site sales calls to generate new business.

* Participate in the forecasting, rate strategy, marketing planning, package planning and event planning and implementation.

* Continually monitor occupancy forecasts & revenues projected for future dates.

* Continually monitor meeting and group blocks, contract deadlines, block pick-up activity, release dates, catering order deadlines and other related groups/meetings/events deadlines to ensure accuracy, guest satisfaction, smooth operations and maximum revenues.

* Continually monitor and ensure that rates and status and allocations are kept accurate.

* Assist with food and liquor ordering through established vendors. Monitor inventories.

* Coordinating with all vendors for onsite meetings and events.

* Participate in the market planning, forecasting, rate strategy and package planning.

* Assist with PR/marketing and advertising opportunities as requested.

* Be flexible and willing to help cover front desk shifts and to assist other team members/departments when necessary.

* Participate in meeting event space set-up, teardown and clean-up. Also, coordinate, communicate, direct and delegate related tasks with other departments and team members.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of three years of sales experience; hospitality sales preferred.

* Excellent leadership skills and strong revenue management skills.

* Innovative and self-motivated.Must be able to work independently and have the drive to succeed.

* Experience with serving food and beverages.

* Outstanding communication and organization skills. Must maintain a high level of professionalism.

* Requires the ability to walk and stand for long lengths of time. Requires ability to lift 35-50 pounds intermittently during the workday. Must be able to use computer for daily work. Must be able to verbally communicate to staff in an understandable manner.
